[origin: WO0141980A1] The invention relates to a receptacle and a drive device for a rotating knife which can be used in animal production. The invention relates to a receptacle and a drive device comprising a drive unit having a first cogwheel (8) and a second cogwheel (4) which are rotatably mounted in a housing (2, 3) and directly or indirectly coupled to each other. The first cogwheel (8) is connected to a drive shaft. The second cogwheel (4) is disposed parallel to a cross-sectional plane of said rotating knife (1) The second cogwheel comprises a connecting element in order to detachably secure said rotating knife (1). The inventive receptacle and drive device can encapsulate the drive well thereby improving hygiene conditions during cutting.
