Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0142115A2] The invention relates to a device for separating strips (S1 - S12), especially metal strips, conveyed in said device side by side in their longitudinal direction. The inventive device comprises at least one separation unit (N) that extends in one axial direction (X) in which one guide element each (F10 F25) is correlated with respective strips (S1 S12). Said guide element guides the strip (S1 S12) that is disposed therein in a form fit in a plane (E1, E2) that is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis (L) of the separation unit (N) and that is different from every plane of the guide elements (F10 F25) that are disposed adjacent to it. The inventive separation device has a simple design and allows separation of the strips in a reliable and time-saving manner. The invention further relates to advantageous uses of such a device.
