Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0138804A1] The invention relates to a method for pelleting a liquid or paste-like mass. The aim is to reduce the risk of the pellets (10) that are manufactured being deformed. To this end, the mass is introduced into a cooling flow (5) of a liquid coolant that is produced in a coolant bath (3) with a directed forced flow, at least partially frozen in the cooling flow (5), whereupon pellets are formed, and then removed from the cooling flow (5). A corresponding device is provided with a container (1) for receiving a liquid coolant, a flow generating device (14) with a coolant admission opening (6) and a coolant exit (15), for producing a cooling flow (5) of the liquid coolant, a feeding device (7) for feeding the mass into the cooling flow (5); and a conveying device (9) for removing the pellets (10) from the coolant bath (3). The container (1) contains a coolant bath (3) into which the coolant admission opening (6) extends, and the coolant exit (15) is located in such a way that a coolant flow (5) is produced in the coolant bath (3).
