Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1323499A2] The pliers have a toothed arc batten (11) fitted to one of the arms (4) of the pliers, in the teeth of which a locking pawl (13) fitted to the handle part of the other arm (6) engages. This pawl and its locking sector (17) are made in two parts. The spacing between the tooth engagement point of the pawl and the teeth and bearing journals can be reduced, causing the two clamping sectors (7, 9) to spring apart.
