The printer has at least one laser printing unit and a number of ink-jet priting units, positioned along respective parallel sheet conveying channels, coupled to a shared sheet input channel on the input side via sheet guides (W1,..W7) and to sheet storage devices (14,16) on the output side. The laser printing unit is associated with the shared sheet input channel, or with the shared sheet output channel to which the sheet storage devices are connected on the output side.

Beschrieben wird eine Rotationsdruckmaschine mit wenigstens einem ein- oder zweifarbig druckenden Hochleistungs-Druckwerk, das insbesondere ein Laserdruckwerk ist, und mit mehreren Tintendruckwerken (D4; D3; D2; D1), die jeweils an einem durch Rollen gebildeten Transportweg für eine Papierbahn (44) angeordnet sind. Die Tintendruckwerke (D4; D3; D2; D1) sind in Abständen in einer Reihe an dem Transportweg (44) angeordnet. In der Papiertransportrichtung befindet sich vor jedem Tintendruckwerk (D4; D3; D2; D1) ein Papierbahn-Zwischenspeicher (S1; S2; S3; S4) im Transportweg. <IMAGE>
