[origin: US2002118146A1] A display unit in a dashboard of a vehicle is provided where the display unit is not visible to the viewing person in an inoperative position and, when its operation is started or for the purpose of being read, the display unit can be brought into an operative position by being swivelled by 180° out of its inoperative position.

Es wird eine Anzeigeeinheit (10) in einem Armaturenbrett (16) eines Fahrzeuges vorgeschlagen, wobei die Anzeigeeinheit (10) in Ruheposition für den Betrachter nicht sichtbar ist und bei Inbetriebnahme oder zum Ablesen aus ihrer Ruheposition um 180° geschwenkt in eine Arbeitsposition bringbar ist. Die in der Ruheposition sichtbare Rückseite (13) der Anzeigeeinheit (10) fügt sich in die Kontur des Armaturenbretts (16) ein. <IMAGE>
