[origin: WO0135926A2] The invention disclosed in this application relates to a novel pharmaceutical composition containing sildenafil useful for nasal administration for the treatment of male erectile dysfunction due to organic, psychogenic and mixed causes. The composition is also effective in patients with erectile dysfunction due to spinal cord injury. The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention is in the form of a solution or a colloidal dispersion in a pharmaceutical vehicle filled into specially designed dosing device for nasal administration. The invention disclosed in this application also provides a method for preparing the pharmaceutical composition containing sildenafil for nasal application for the treatment of male erectile dysfunction.
