[origin: GB2355008A] A coating agent for solid or non-aqueous compositions is made from a foam component comprising a matrix of a polymeric material, the coating being stable upon contact with air but unstable upon contact with water. The invention also relates to compositions enclosed or partially enclosed by this coating, such as cleaning compositions, pharmaceutical compositions, personal care compositions and fabric care compositions. The polymeric material may be polyvinyl alcohol, polysaccharide, polycarboxylic acid, cellulose, modified cellulose, gums and derivatives or mixtures thereof.
