[origin: WO0144091A2] The invention relates to a method for applying a prefabricated layer of an adhesive mixture that is provided with a peel-off protective film to a metal-core roller that is subsequently coated with an elastomer material. According to the inventive method, the layer provided with the peel-off protective film is applied to the metal core in the form of longish strips wound up like on a reel so that the strips overlap and extend spirally, while at the same time the corresponding part of the protective film is peeled off and wound up.
