Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0147226A1] The invention relates to a telecommunication system comprising: interfaces (5, 6, SMSC) providing a subscriber terminal (MS) with access to services available in the telecommunication system, and a memory means (SMP) containing subscriber-terminal-specific language selection information. In order to ensure that messages are transmitted to a subscriber terminal in a selected language, said memory means (SMP) is a centralized subscriber language selection register, which indicates the language that should be used in voice messages and text messages transmitted via said at least two interfaces (5, 6, SMSC) to the subscriber terminal, and said at least two interfaces (5, 6, SMSC) are responsive to said centralized subscriber language selection register (SMP) for transmitting messages to the subscriber terminal (MS) in the language indicated by said centralized subscriber language selection register.
