Es wird ein Wert- und/oder Sicherheitsdokument für die Hochgeschwindigkeitsverifikation beschrieben, wobei die Up-conversion Elemente in Form von kleinen anorganischen Partikeln vorliegen und derart auf dem Wertund/oder Sicherheitsdokument oberflächennah appliziert sind, dass deren Hochgeschwindigkeitsverifikation mittels NIR-Licht-Anregung und Detektion der Emissionsbanden im sichtbaren und im nicht sichtbaren Wellenlängenbereich erfolgt, wobei der Up-conversion-Leuchtstoff ein Thulium-aktiviertes und Ytterbium-kodotiertes Gadoliniumoxysulfid der Zusammensetzung (Gd1-x-yYbxTmx)2 O2S oder (Gd1-x-y)2O2S:Ybx, Tmy ist.
