[origin: WO0149758A1] The invention concerns the synthesis of novel fluorinated elastomers having very low glass transition temperatures, good resistance to bases, oil and fuels and suitable properties in use. Said elastomers contain, for example. 90 to 50 mol % of vinylidene fluorides (VDF) and 10 to 50 mol % of perfluoro vinyl ether (PMVE). In that particular case, they are prepared by free radical copolymerisation of VDF and PMVE in the presence of organic initiators such as for example peroxides, peresters or diazonium compounds.
