Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19955660C1] The particle jet (16) employs particles made from a cold, solidified fluid. An Independent claim is included for corresponding equipment. A conveyor (9) introducing the particles, is fixed to the unit (6) forming the particle jet. Preferred features: The particles are conveyed in the gas jet. The fluid is carbon dioxide and/or water. The jet is projected at a shallow angle with respect to the textile surface (4). Velocity, pressure and/or angle of incidence are adjusted in accordance with desired surface structure. Particle size is made uniform, before introduction into the jet. In the preferred equipment, the conveyor is a screw conveyor (10), and includes a sectored wheel airlock. The conveyor also includes a grinder (11).
