[origin: WO0146630A1] The invention relates to a refrigeration device (10) with a refrigeration chamber (13) at the back wall (18) of which an upright finned evaporator (19) is provided behind an air duct system (21). Said finned evaporator is ventilated with forced air by a fan (20) disposed within the air duct system (21). The aim of the invention is provide a refrigeration device which prevents icing of the rotor of the fan (20) and reduces the length of air ducts necessary, thereby considerably creating more storage room in the refrigeration or freezing chamber (13). To this end, the evaporator (19) is disposed near the ceiling (17) of the useful storage area (13) and in the suction-end air current of the fan (20) which is provided below the evaporator (19).
