[origin: WO0150370A2] An automated method and system to form and monitor the performance of a multiple purchase installment contract for retail items. A customer's requirements for a product over a specified time span are first determined by either analyzing that customer's prior purchases or by questioning the customer about his or her usage. A schedule of periodic purchases is then determined to allow the customer to satisfy his or her needs for the product by making installment purchases for that product during the contract's time span. The installment purchases are monitored and recorded and the compliance by the customer with the terms of the contract are determined. The customer may incur an additional cost or receive a benefit for breach or satisfaction of the contract.
