[origin: EP1243885A2] Heat exchanger consists of flat heat exchanger tubes (1) with ends (3) extending into openings (5) of a tubular base (4). The narrow sides (12) of the exchanger tubes on its ends have a separating section (17) and the longitudinal sides (11) are bent so that the ends of the longitudinal sides of neighboring heat exchanger tubes form a surface (15) over the tubular base. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the heat exchanger. Preferred Features: Opposite-lying narrow sides of the ends of the heat exchanger tubes are split and opposite-lying longitudinal sides of the ends of the heat exchanger tubes are bent so that a surface is formed on the inner side of the tubular base.
