[origin: WO0145863A2] The invention relates to a unit for irradiating a work piece with ultraviolet radiation. Said unit is provided with at least one UV radiation source and at least one transport device, whereby the work piece is introduced to a charging station of the unit and transported by a transport device to an irradiating zone. Said work piece is constructed such that, the unit can be operated in a more simple manne. According to the invention the unit has a common charging and sampling station and the workpiece can be moved between the common charging and sampling station and the irradiating zone.
