[origin: DE19963007A1] The method involves scanning a number of equally spaced angle marks (12,16-19) on the transmitter disc (10,14) to produce an output signal (U20,U21) with positive and negative half-oscillations, which are each generated by the flanks of the angle marks. An evaluation unit converts the signals to rectangular signals. The interval between the level changes is used to detect a polarisation reversal.
