[origin: EP1245309A2] Device for cooling cast pigs made from light metal comprises a housing (1) connected to a conveyor (4) for the hot pigs and a conveyor (5) for the cooled pigs with a conveyor unit for the pigs rinsed with cooling medium. The conveyor unit comprises a paternoster continuous lift (7) with a conveyor section (8) connected to the conveyor (4) and a conveyor section (9) for the conveyor (5). A connecting conveyor is between the conveyor sections and the housing has fans (18) above the lift. Preferred Features: The fans are on the side of the conveyor section (9) in the housing and directed against the conveyor section (8) of the lift.
