[origin: EP1245355A2] The roller (8) with a cutting blade to cut especially paper, for the production of envelope blanks and the like, has a roller surface (12) for a blade and especially a foil blade. Suction openings generate an underpressure at the roller surface, with longitudinal and radial drillings. At least one permanent magnet (23) holds the blade, with at least one suction opening (14') for a suction air flow, and at least one radial drilling (22') with an air flow connection. The magnet has a passage opening (24) to the suction opening. The suction openings are in a symmetrical array at the magnet, or they are in at least a partially asymmetrical layout.
