[origin: EP1245797A2] Valve drive comprises at least one driven cam element (2) rotatably arranged in a flexible enclosing element and a cam follower element (10), especially a valve lifter. The enclosing element is pressed by a force acting against valve opening into a concave transition region (73) provided between the base circle region (71) and the cam region (72) of the cam element. Preferred Features: The base circle region of the cam element and a central part (76) of its cam region have a common central curve point lying in the axis (8) of the cam region. The enclosing element has a projection (74) protruding inwardly toward the cam element at the connecting point (12) with the cam follower element.
