[origin: DE10115427C1] The switch position display (1) has a guide element (4), e.g. a guide pin, associated with the manual operating element (3) for the switch, cooperating with a counter element (5), e.g. a guide slot, for displacement of a slider (6), providing a visible switch position indication within a viewing window. The visible switch position indication can be provided by the end face of the slider. An Independent claim for a built-in switch with a switch position display is also included.
