[origin: DE10000831C1] The bed with a three-dimensionally movable mattreess (15) has a frame (10,12) with feet on which the mattress is accommodated in a non-sprung but pliable manner. Over the surface of the mattress sensors (16) are distributed, in order to determine the localized depression of the mattress surface under load. Over the surface of the mattress are distributed lifting devices (19) responding to the localized depression, in order to return the mattresses to the correct horizontal position independently of the localized different loads. The sensors and lifting devices are formeed as double-acting pressure medium cylinders and are connected crosswise to each other.
