[origin: DE10001374C1] The retainer (7) for fixture of a silencer on the barrel (9) of a hand gun has a part (7) rotatable relatively to the barrel around its bore axis and a non-rotatable part (6). In order to compensate the effect of the silencer on the target point location of the weapon, the silencer is turned between one shot and the next. In a rotary position considered to be optimal the rotatable and non-rotatable parts are firmly attached to each other, so that with each fresh application of the silencer on the weapon the same rotary angle position of the silencer is achieved in relation to the barrel.
