[origin: WO0146932A1] The invention concerns a method and a device for sea surveillance. The method comprises at least: a first step (101) which consists in periodically collecting maritime traffic data by co-operating ships (NC, NC1, NC2, NC3) passing through the surveillance zone (21) based on their navigation equipment, the ships sending the data to a main sea surveillance centre (29); a second step which consists in managing the global traffic condition carried out by the main centre on the basis of the data collected by the co-operating ships, each ship thus providing a local traffic condition. The invention also concerns a device for implementing said method. The invention is particularly applicable to sea surveillance and maritime control to improve traffic security.
