[origin: US2002139276A1] A bogie for rail vehicles with wheels with a variable track includes a chassis supporting a body of the vehicle and four wheels connected to the chassis by articulated arms. Each wheel is movable transversely relative to the articulated arm to occupy at least two positions corresponding to two different track gages and the arms are able to pivot about a pivot with a movement damped by primary suspension members. At least one articulated arm transmits rotation of the wheel to a secondary shaft and the secondary shaft is constrained to rotate with a braking and/or traction system.

Bogie pour véhicules ferroviaires à roues (4) à écartement variable, comportant un châssis (1) porteur de la caisse du véhicule et quatre roues (4) reliées audit châssis (1) par des bras articulés (5), lesdits bras (5) pouvant pivoter autour d'un axe d'articulation (3) selon un mouvement amorti par des suspensions primaires (13), chaque roue (4) étant déplaçable transversalement par rapport au bras articulé (5) la supportant de manière à occuper au moins deux positions correspondant à deux largeurs de voie différentes, caractérisé en ce qu'au moins un bras articulé (5) comporte des moyens de transmission (61, 64) du mouvement de rotation de la roue (4) vers un arbre secondaire, ledit arbre secondaire étant solidaire en rotation d'un système de freinage et/ou de traction. <IMAGE>
