Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1247751A1] An aluminum shell (12) formed on inner surface, has an internal coating of varnish. A laminated gasket (15) has a barrier layer provided on one side of an insulating layer. The insulating layer is welded directly to the aluminum shell. An independent claim is included for crown cork manufacturing method comprising: (1) fixing the gasket with the shell by heating part or all of the exterior surface of the shell adjacent the edge of the gasket where the insulating layer is exposed; and (2) welding of the gasket in position within the shell by bonding between at least part of the insulating layer and the coating of the shell.
