[origin: EP1247884A2] A textile machine has a heated galette roller (22) with a temperature probe (14, 15) located in an air gap (3) open to one side. The air gap has especially a cylindrical form and is enclosed on three sides by the roller mantle (22). The (22) roller has a raised edge (24) creating additional material thickness to accommodate the cylindrical air gap (3). The probe (15) extends is presented sideways along a centreline in line with the galette outer surface (23) over which fibre runs. The raised edge is formed to provide optimum and uniform heat flow. The roller (22) fully surrounds a cage-ring (21).
