Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0961527A1] The torch (10) consists of main body (12) which accommodates a sleeve (20) for an electrode (48). The electrode is adjoined with a nozzle (34) which is covered by a shield cup (36). A cylinder (60) and a piston (82) are accommodated inside the main body. The gas inlet passage (94) is provided in the main body. An outlet orifice (104) for plasma gas (P) is provided in an edge wall (102) of the nozzle. While passing out the outlet orifice, an arc is provided between the electrode and the nozzle. A swirling rib (130) is provided inside edge wall of the nozzle for guiding flow of plasma gas from inlet to outlet orifice.
