Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0152787A2] The invention relates to a fitness device in the form of an item of clothing, for trimming the figure of a human body. The device comprises a covering which surrounds the body at least partially air-tightly. A fitness device of this type is known e.g. as a sweat suit. The sweat suit generates a sauna-type environment inside itself, which causes the rate of metabolism to increase. This boosts the impact of training and improves figure trimming. Conventional sweat suits however, need to be worn regularly over a longer period. The aim of the invention is therefore to create a fitness device which enables faster results to be achieved in terms of trimming the figure, at least in comparison with conventional sweat suits, and which can be used in specific areas of the body. According to the invention, this problem is solved for a fitness device (1) of the type mentioned initially by the covering forming a low-pressure chamber (5) with at least one section of the body surface (5), said chamber being subjected to an air pressure which is lower than that of the environment outside of the fitness device (1). This low pressure stimulates the blood circulation in the area of the low-pressure chamber (5) and increases the metabolism in the fatty layers of the skin. This results in a rapid breakdown of fat. The inventive fitness device can also be worn during regular training.
