Abstract (en)
[origin: FR2800053A1] The device for forming a package from a band (1) of fibers uses a coiler (4) which feeds the band into a container (7). This has a wide cover plate (6) which fits across the top of the container and a movable plate (11) attached to a jack (13) which moves down the container as it fills up. The container is mounted on a mobile platform (12) which moves down at a rate such that the band is wound into a spiral reel with separate turns. The base plate exerts an increasing force on the reel so that its top presses against the cover plate with a constant force.
