[origin: CA2381134A1] The present invention relates to objects having self-cleaning surfaces, and to processes for their production. The self-cleaning hydrophobic surfaces have particles with a size in the micrometer range to submicrometer range and a fissured structure in the nanometer range. These particles are secured by a carrier, such as a coating, to a surface of the object.
