Abstract (en)
The piston has a piston head (3) at one end and a defining recess (6) at the other end. A pressure bearing shoe (8) is connected axially in a rigid way to the piston on the piston head side of the recess. The shoe is connected using mating formations (9a,9b) formed on the shoe and/or the piston. The formations are arranged around the circumference of the piston in such a way that the lateral forces acting on the piston cannot push the shoe out of position. The mating formations can be formed by machining the piston. The shoe defines a part spherical pressure bearing surface (12).
