[origin: EP1249680A1] A rudder bearing unit for a projectile comprises a rudder plate (12), a bearing element (16) with two side sections and front faces which border onto the receiving area for the rudder plate foot. The axial spacing (70) between the front surfaces of the side sections is greater than the axial thickness of the rudder plate foot. The rudder plate axis is prevented from rotating, and the rudder plate foot is forced against the front surface when the rudder plate is in the active position, and is spaced apart when in the non-active position.
