Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0139494A1] Electronic content, including television (TV) programming and computer network content, is managed by a computer in a web-based TV environment by gathering the electronic content from multiple sources, selectively arranging (e.g., combining, re-organizing and/or re-formatting) the gathered electronic content to form one or more virtual channels, which can then be presented to a viewer. A virtual program guide formed, (e.g., from metadata descriptive of the virtual channels), also can be generated and presented to viewers, who can use the virtual program guide to search for, sort, bookmark, and/or filter out virtual channels as desired.
