[origin: EP1250904A2] The specifically shaped chair has a wooden frame (4) made of two parts (5, 6) movable joined at the bottom, a swivel mounted foot rest (11) and two armrests (14). One of the armrests is made of a strong textile belt (15) slightly padded on top (18) and is joined to the back part (1) of the frame (4) with a short elastic strip (20). When the temporarily or permanently immobile patient is to be seated or to be removed from the chair, a lock (19), located at the front of the chair is opened and the armrest (14) can be completely folded over in order to provide maximum space for the operation.
