The device consists of socket (104) and plug (102) parts with at least one contact socket and pin. The plug part can be at least partly inserted into the socket part, whereby the pin contacts the socket and a plug part latching protrusion interacts with a socket part holding device (112) when the connector is assembled so the plug and socket parts are fixed together. The longitudinally movable cap (106) covers the protrusion and holding device.

Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Steckverbinder für eine elektrische Steckverbindung bestehend aus einem Buchsenteil und einem Steckerteil, wobei das Buchsenteil mindestens eine Kontaktbuchse und das Steckerteil mindestens einen Kontaktstift aufweisen. Das Steckerteil ist zumindest teilweise in das Buchsenteil einsteckbar, wodurch der Kontaktstift die Kontaktbuchse elektrisch kontaktiert, und an dem Steckerteil ist eine Verriegelungsnase angeordnet, die beim Zusammenstecken von Buchsenteil und Steckerteil mit einer Haltevorrichtung des Buchsenteils so zusammenwirkt, dass das Steckerteil und das Buchsenteil aneinander fixiert sind. Um einen Steckverbinder für eine elektrische Steckverbindung anzugeben, bei dem eine Verrastung zwischen Steckerteil und Buchsenteil mit erhöhter Sicherheit erfolgt und mit geringerer Wahrscheinlichkeit unbeabsichtigt wieder gelöst wird, weist der Steckverbinder eine in Längsrichtung verschiebliche Überwurfkappe auf, welche die Verriegelungsnase und die Haltevorrichtung überdeckt. <IMAGE>
