Abstract (en)

[origin: DE10002927A1] The invention relates to a method for purifying running groundwater, leakage water, pit water and surface water by influencing the concentration of ions of normally undesired radioactive and non-radioactive matters in groundwater and surface water by means of galvanic elements. The aim of the invention is especially to purify the waters of uranium and arsenic. The aim of the invention is also to simultaneously separate the uranium an arsenic compounds from the waters in a highly effective manner, whereby said compounds are present as impurities in the waters. The aim of the invention is further to also use said method for a plurality of other ions of radioactive and non-radioactive matters. According to the invention, a base metal in the from of an easily oxidable metal is used. A catalytically acting matter and a matter for immobilising the harmful inorganic substance that is present in the dissolved from are simultaneously used. The invention also relates to the materials of the matters and the physical shaped thereof. The invention further relates to the galvanic embodiment of the method.
