[origin: WO0153870A1] The invention relates to a device and a method for the assessment of a great number of cells, in a measurement and evaluation process, under near-field optical conditions, with regard to the reaction state of molecular reactants. A sample stage is characterised, in that light sources with various aperture diameters, in the nano- or micro-range, are mounted therein. The 2D nano light source array is formed from a number of near-field light sources, arranged in a contiguous raster and consecutively, or simultaneously stimulated. A semiconductor material is used as support material.
