[origin: WO0153128A2] The invention concerns an assembly comprising a power generator (120) consisting of a heat engine, for instance a motor operating with hydrogen or any other clean gas (101) driving a current generator (102) to generate an electric current designed to charge buffer batteries (100) and/or power an electric motor (10), and a regulating device (103) designed to control the start-up of the power generator (120) so as to regulate the current supply in accordance with the charge level of the buffer batteries (100) and/or the current required by the electric motor (10). The buffer batteries are maintained permanently charged optimally and the device always ensures a power reserve available for the electric motor (10). A small steam turbine is also incorporated to transform waste heat contained in the exhaust gas of the heat engine (101) into additional mechanical or electric power.
