[origin: WO0144095A1] Disclosed are methods and apparatus for providing information to elevator occupants via an elevator computer disposed with an elevator and having a display for the presentation of the information. A server computer can facilitate the provision of the information to the elevator computer via the Internet. The elevator computer can receive new information at scheduled times. According to one aspect of the invention, a phone call to a modem associated with the elevator computer signals the elevator computer to electronically communicate with the server computer, and responsive to communication between the computers, receive information, such as for substantially immediate display to elevator occupants.
