[origin: DE10121696C1] The machine has an envelope filling table (8), to which a sheet or sheet set is transported by a feed device for packing into an open envelope via an insertion device (1-6), provided with an insertion finger carrier (4) operated by a reciprocating drive, supporting pivoted insertion fingers (6) engaging the rear end of the sheet or sheet set. The pivot movement of the insertion fingers is controlled via a cam mechanism, with an additional mass providing a positive or negative torque parallel to the insertion direction.
