[origin: EP1255019A2] Plastic hollow profile (10) comprises a supporting wall (14) and at least one foamable hollow chamber (12) having a volume with a cross-sectional area defined at least partly by a hollow chamber wall (18) separate from the supporting wall and which is enlarged on expansion of the foam during specified deformation of the hollow chamber wall while the supporting wall remains dimensionally stable. An Independent claim is also included for a method for producing the above plastic hollow profile. Preferred Features: The supporting wall and the hollow chamber wall together define the cross-sectional area. The increase in volume is 2-20, preferably at least 10% of the original hollow chamber volume.
