Catalyst (1) has a longitudinal section (11) located a distance away from a flow side (8) of the catalyst in the main through flow direction (7) and containing turbulators arranged at least in several catalytically active channels (5a) and/or connections (12) formed between several catalytically active channels and catalytically inactive channels (5i). The connections allow transfer between catalytically active channels and catalytically inactive channels. Preferred Features: The turbulators are formed by protrusions protruding into the channels, perforations, projections and/or surface roughness. The connections are formed by holes penetrating the channel walls of adjacent channels perpendicular to the main flow direction.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Katalysator (1) zum Verbrennen zumindest eines Teils eines den Katalysator (1) durchströmenden Brennstoff-Oxidator-Gemischs, insbesondere für einen Brenner einer Kraftwerksanlage. Der Katalysator (1) weist mehrere katalytisch aktive Kanäle (5a) und mehrere katalytisch inaktive Kanäle (5i) auf. Ein Längsabschnitt (11) des Katalysators (1) ist in der Hauptdurchströmungsrichtung (7) von einer Anströmseite (8) beabstandet. In diesem Längsabschnitt (11) sind zumindest in mehreren katalytisch aktiven Kanälen (5a) Turbulatoren angeordnet. Zusätzlich oder alternativ sind in diesem Längsabschnitt (11) zwischen mehreren benachbarten Kanälen (5a,5i) Verbindungen (12) ausgebildet, die ein Überströmen zwischen den Kanälen (5a,5i) ermöglichen. <IMAGE>
