[origin: WO0159445A1] The invention relates to a device which is used to analyze substances by means of thin layer chromatography, comprising a solvent tub (1) with two channels (11, 12). Two wall plates (4, 5) are mounted in the solvent tub (1), enabling thin layer plates (2, 3) to be arranged in an upright manner inside said channels in a slanted position with respect to the horizontal level thereof. The substance which is to be analyzed can thus be dropped onto or applied to the thin layer plates (2, 3) from above and a solvent can be fed to the channels (11, 12) from above at a supply point (111, 112). Upward migration of the constituents of the substance to be analyzed can thus commence without changing the position of the thin layer plate (2, 3).
