[origin: WO0161378A1] The invention concerns a method which consists in deducting the noise originating from ambient radiation from the measurement of a radiation from a source (S) by a preliminary correlation calculated between the measurements of the main sensor (1) and of at least an auxiliary sensor (2): when the radiation source (S) is present, the auxiliary sensor (2) which continues to measure ambient radiation, is used to estimate the part of the measurement of the main sensor (1) which can be attributed to ambient radiation. The invention is useful for verifying the activity of various objects, often having low emissivity.
