The device has a housing (11) with several different protruding plug systems (12,14) on its periphery and a plug can (17) rotatably mounted in the housing and with electrical contacts that can be connected to corresponding contacts of the various plug systems in rotary positions of the plug can associated with the external plug systems. Ein elektrischer Steckadapter 10 zum wahlweisen Anschluss eines dreipoligen Stecksystems an unterschiedliche länderspezifische Stecksysteme 12-16 mit und ohne Schutzkontakt besteht aus einem Gehäuse 11, an dessen Außenumfang mehrere unterschiedlich vorstehende Stecksysteme 12-16 angeordnet sind, und aus einem Steckdosentopf 17, der in dem Gehäuse 11 drehbar gelagert ist und der elektrische Kontakte aufweist, die in jeweils den äußeren Stecksystemen 12-16 zugeordneten Drehstellungen des Steckdosentopfes 17 mit entsprechenden elektrischen Kontakten des jeweiligen Stecksystem 12-17 verbindbar sind, wobei wenigstens eines der Stecksysteme 12-16 einen im Gehäuse 11 bewegbar gelagerten Schutzkontaktstift 30, 42, 50 aufweist. <IMAGE>
