[origin: CA2401038A1] A motorized treadmill (1) that provides more fluid rotational motion of the treadmill belt (21 increases the life of the motor (405), provides more stable, reliable, cvation of the treadmill, a nd provides automatic dampening for users of all weight ranges. The treadmill includes an external frame (3) having first and second longitudinal side rails (200), at least one frame cross-bar extending therebetween, and an upright frame section that extends upwardly from a first end of the longitudinal side rails (200). First (301) and second rollers (302) are rotatably mounted on the external frame (3), and positioned so as to be substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal side rails (200). The first roller (301) is coincident with a first axis. A deck is mounted on the external frame (3), is positioned between the first (301), the second rollers (302), and the longitudinal side rails (20). An endless belt (2) is mounted around, extends between the first (301), and second rollers (302) for rotati on therewith.
