Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0162482A1] The invention concerns a method for extracting liquid from a cellular material which consists in subjecting the cellular material (50) to the combined action of mechanical pressing and a treatment with a pulsed electric field of moderate power applied by short and repeated high voltage pulse bursts. The invention also concerns devices for implementing the extraction method, in particular a filter press device comprising juxtaposed plates (10) defining between them at least a chamber (20) with filtering side walls each internally bordered by a grid forming electrode (22). The invention is characterised in that the two electrodes of each chamber (20) are connected to a pulsed electric field (40) capable of sending short and repeated high voltage pulses.
