[origin: WO0162664A1] The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of sodium perborate monohydrate having a high active oxygen content and high bulk density and to sodium perborate particles which can be made using this method. The method according to the invention comprises agglomerating fine sodium perborate particles using as agglomerating agent a high concentration hydrogen peroxide solution, and subsequently drying. The product obtained has the desirable properties of commercially available sodium perborate monohydrate but also in particular a high active oxygen content and high bulk density making it suitable for use in so-called compact or super compact detergent formulations.
